wiper arm removal

trying to diagnose a water leak and suspect that the seal under the cowl grate could be the problem. Can't remove wiper arms and read the thread on removal but still do not understand how to "remove pin" so as to pull arm off shaft. Does this require a special tool? I have used a screw driver as well as needle nose pliers but can't see what I'm trying to move. Any photos that show the underside of the arm base? Thanks

There is no pin to remove the arm. It just pushes on. You have to pull the arm all the way up and then try to rock it side to side to pull it off from the shaft. If it doesn't want to budge try putting a screwdriver between the bottom of the arm and the chrome ring that holds the plate down. You have to do it with the arm pulled up to release the spring tension.

John great instructions. Learned many years ago that by lifting up the wiper blade released the tension In more ways than one .
