A/C evaporator drain replacement for 1958 1959 1960 Thu

For those who have air-conditioning in their Squarebirds, you may have noticed that the two water drains on the bottom of the evaporator box are either missing or deteriorated so much that they let a lot of your cold air escape into the engine compartment. No reproductions are available.

There is an inexpensive solution. Hotrodders use baffle grommet on the small block Chevrolet valve covers. This piece fits perfectly in those holes on the evaporator box and has the same function.

For $2.00 each, you cannot beat the price. Plus these parts are not visible, so you will not be docked points at a car show.

WOW! What an eye-opener this was. I checked mine last night with a flashlight and a mirror, and both are completely gone. I called Streetrodproducts to buy them, but just got a recording...going to keep trying, as I really need these!

Here is the baffle grommet installed on a 1960 Thunderbird evaporator box. It looks right at home.

I ran into the same problem with this vendor. You can't order on the website, they don't answer their email and you get voicemail when you call... LUCKY YOU! a GOOGLE AND...

Redemption - I got 2 e-mails plus phone calls from StreetRodProducts. They were on vacation, and were not monitoring their calls and emails. Looks like our timing was just bad luck in trying to order from them.......seem like good folks....

The StreetRodProducts vendor at Atlantic City seemed to be a nice guy. He discussed the application of the part with me, even though I was only buying a $2 part.

I'll be needing some other parts and give them another shot. In fact I may have two more of the enclosures and need another 4 drains to plug them.
