    Tranny filter, cruise-o-matic

    Hi guys,
    Just a quickie.
I was ordering a filter and gasket for my Cruice-O-Matic, and the guy in the shop and I looked up what numbers it should be and stuff...
Anyway, It came back today, but the number didnīt match at all.
The part I got now is a filter kit from ATP with # B-33
Checking Google on the number, I came to a site ( http://www.rockauto.com/dbphp/prt,4,B33 ) that sell this for these cars:

    EDSEL CORSAIR 1959
    EDSEL RANGER 1959
    FORD CLUB (1953 - 1962)
    FORD COUNTRY SEDAN (1951 - 1967)
    FORD COUNTRY SQUIRE(1951 - 1967)
    FORD CUSTOM (1951 - 1957)
    FORD CUSTOM 300 1957
    FORD CUSTOM 500(1965 - 1967)
    FORD FAIRLANE(1955 - 1962)
    FORD GALAXIE(1959 - 1962)
    FORD GALAXIE 500(1962 - 1967)
    FORD LTD(1965 - 1967)
    FORD RANCH WAGON(1951 - 1967)
    FORD RANCHERO(1966 - 1967)
    FORD SUNLINER(1952 - 1962)
    FORD VICTORIA(1952 - 1962)
    MERCURY COLONY PARK(1959 - 1962)
    MERCURY COMMUTER(1958 - 1961)
    MERCURY COUNTRY CRUISER(1959 - 1960)
    MERCURY CUSTOM 1954
    MERCURY MEDALIST 1958
    MERCURY MERCURY 1951
    MERCURY METEOR 1961
    MERCURY MONTCLAIR (1958 - 1960)
    MERCURY MONTEREY (1951 - 1962)
    MERCURY PARK LANE1959

Do you think it fit my ī58?

    Another thing......
cost was a bit different.... Cost in US: 3.96 dollars.
Here, the very same part cost 320 SEK ( 53 dollars )
    That sucks!

If this is a BIRD, it should have an MX (MED CASE) CRUISE-O-MATIC and the PN should be B-41. Double check.

I second those words of Tbird430. All in favor, say "Aye"! Sorry, I forgot for a moment that I was not in the Board room!

@Kultulz: That was a good overwiew. I did got the wrong one, but I ordered the right number.
              Will go back and complain...

Now, I got brakes again!!!! I donīt mean slowing speed anymore. We are talking Stop the car now! Where I want it.
Adjusting the shoes was the answer. Feels a lot safer as a matter of fact....

Anders if you can get your money back and are in no hurry for the filter kit.I am sure one of us State side guys could pick it up at the local NAPA store and send it to you for less than half the price you paid.

                    I got my money back.
Well, I would be very happy and grateful if someone can help me out, but I donīt know how to send money easy.
I do have a Pay Pal account, so if someone can handle that, that way would be realy easy. And if you make the package looks so it not look like itīs from a company, and write "gift", chanses is great that I donīt need to pay customs
I also found a shop who can help me with adjusting the tranny, for what I beleve is a quite fair price. Approx. 200 dollars, so as soon as I have the new filter, he will hopefully sort it out.
The wedding-drive is just one month away now....

I will check in the morning with NAPA to get you a price on a Filter and new pan gasket for a Cruice-o-Matic,what year is it for.If you want it I will buy it and ship to you,but my concern is will the shipping be more that what you would pay at Sweden. I just shipped by USA mail 6 Lb to canada and the cost was $25.60 I will be glad to check with the Post office and see if I can get a Est.cost.

I check with NAPA here and they did not have the filter screen.
I then talked with the tech. who rebuild my tramy he told me that there were different size pans sm.-med-lrg. he said you need to count the number of bolts to make sure you get the right one
                        He gets his parts from:

                        Fatsco Transmission parts
                        337 Change Bridge Road
                        Pine Brook NJ. 07058
                        Tel. 1-800-240-0485
                        Fax 1-973-227-5414
                        www.fatsco.com

I called them and ask about a screen filter and gasket set fot a 1958 Ford T-Bird with Cruice-O-Matic their cost was $26.26 and they do ship world wide. You might contact them for help

It was a nightmare trying to get a filter kit for my T-bird. It is in fact an MX Cruise-O-Matic transmission. I told the guy at the parts store what it was, he special ordered it, waited 2 weeks, and they sent a filter kit for a C-6. Another 2 weeks and I got the filter, but no gasket. Then a week and a half later, I got the gasket... for a C-6! Finally, after half a dozen trips to the parts store, I got the right filter and gasket, and for a while I had an extra filter, but I no longer have it. I do remember seeing a filter kit either online or in a catalog for $20-30 USD +shipping, but I don't remember where it was. I thought it was Mac's Antique and Classic Parts, but I just checked the site and couldn't find it. Maybe they sold out what they had, or maybe it was somewhere else.
