    Door lock question

I have all the window-related guts out of my driver's side door right now.

I have lubed all the door latch/lock pivots, bushings etc etc.

I notice that when I have the door "locked", the outside door handle will still open the door. Weird. I cant see where anything inside the door looks odd or out of place.

Has anyone ever ran into this sort of thing?

(•¿•) Your latch isn't working right. When you lock the door, the button outside should go in, but do nothing. If you have all the guts out, take the latch out as well; it's only a few #3 Phillips screws in the door jamb. When you examine the latch, you will see how simply it works.

Also, there is an adjustment screw on the back side of your button. Adjust according to the service manual.

"Door lock lever" that was inside there was for the right door, not the left. (it had a tiny "R" on the side of it)

I have a broken one marked "L" that I found down inside the left door... The little piece that attaches to the lock cylinder is angled a different way.

        Hey Greg,
They have the H pin for the door lock on Ebay all the time. You should be able to pick up two for a little of nothing! Yes there is a right and left!!!

A lot of graphite spray, just about where I could get it in, helped me.
