Ford O Matic 2 Speed Speedometer Gear
Jim, have you tried Rock Auto? They probably have it. Go to http://www.rockauto.com/ bring up your Ford year, model, and engine and see if they have it. They probably will, and if they do, if you order from their web page you get a 5% discount for being a Forum user. That discount code can be found in the Advertisements Forum on here..

I saw that one and tried to contact him to verify it would fit. The E Bay response was "We're sorry we couldn't find an answer for you. Unfortunately, this seller is not able to respond to your question. We suggest reviewing the item again to see if your answer is in the seller's listing." I believe the gear comes in from the outside of the tailshaft. I have a photo ofwhat the opening looks like but don't know how to post it here.Comment

It depends on whether you have a 2.91 axle or 3.10. Do you know which axle you have.

It should be on the data plate on the door post.

Looks like it's a 3.10 rear. I was able to obtain 2 gears, one is purple (#COAA17271E 13 tooth) and the other is natural color (#COAA17271J 13 tooth) but was unable to locate a retaining clip for same. Does anyone have a schematic showing the gear and clip they can share? Thanks, JimComment

I believe this is the clip you need.

Jim,
You're welcome. Are you using the same size tires as came from the factory. If not your speedometer may be off. Usually it's trial and error finding the correct size gear to match up with modern tires.
