    Some BIG questions

Hi all on the home run now, and i need some advice
I have been dealing with tq headquarters for all of my parts and now i need to buy all the big bits,TBH have been outstanding but have had some small quality issues....

Has anyone got suggestions on rubbers, leather seat trims, and carpets?

I would like to purchase once and have quality gear that fits..

    any help would be great

I'd recommend Concours Parts & Accy's. They even offer a lifetime guarantee on the quality of the parts they sell (to the original purchaser) against defects in quality & workmanship. They are located in Utah if my memory serves me correctly. 1-800-722-0009. www.concoursparts.com

Tony I would agree with Jon that Concours Parts has a very good reputation ( as do other parts supplier's ) but with the lifetime guarantee it's reassuring. Many of our members have used them in the past with good feedback.

Mate, I feel for you. I'm in NZ, ordering parts is a killer with the exchange rate like it is. Not sure on the Oz rate, but here our dollar is right on 50cents US. With freight etc, the rule of thumb now is to basically triple the US Price.

For rubbers etc, I got mine from MACs and fit/quality is fine.

          Leather trim for seats

Tony, as you may re-call I ordered new leather for the inside of my bird mid 2008.....after two deliveries of leather seats that did not even come close to fitting, wrong colour and plain frustration of being ignored by the well known vendor, tread warily is my advice.

I still dont have the seats and I am going to the states in a couple of weeks and may well end up knocking on the vendors door - wont he get a surprise when I show up all the way from Oz looking for my money back on the spot.

If you PM me, I will let you know the vendor concerned because I would not want any other member going through the sheer **** that has been this transaction.

+ 1 on Concours Parts. For trim & so forth (Other items too,I'm sure) they are the best. TBHQ is ok for hard parts (Fuel tank senders, flywheels, exh manifs & so on) Interior trim though, not as good.

As I've previously stated, avoid Larry's TB !!

Have you investigated whether there are any auto-upholstery guys locally who could create your leather seat covers from scratch? Here and there are some brilliantly talented craftsmen who would know where to get the leather and then do the rest themselves....

              Just a thought.

Likewise, I just hope I don't need to bring any parts for my '66 over from the USA, - the freight plus the exchange rate is killing us Kiwis (New Zealanders) when it comes to importing from the US of A.
