    1965 Tbird Instrument Gauges

    Hi,
I have a question about gauges for a 1965 Tbird. Can the four vintage gauges in the original pod be replaced with new modern gauges in the original pod? And if so, what would be the best gauges to replace them with? I saw someone on the net repairs the old gauges, but my car is a driver and I think new gauges might serve me better. Thanks for any help.

First of all I haven't been inside them, but after modifying the clock on my 58, the clock on my 68 both to tachs in the dash, I have learned that most can be disassembled if you go slowly and carefully.

I would guess that the gage size is going to be 2" or about the smallest you can find. When I did the tachs, I took both clocks from their cases and remounted the tach in the clocks case, I imagine you could possibly do that.

It would be difficult to beat the coolness factor of those gages tho, but yeah, I don't really believe much they tell me.
