rims ?

i belong to the squarebird group but have recently bought a 64 thunderbird. before i have the new tires put on the car i am going to sandblast the rims. all 1960 tbirds came with black rims. in 1964 were the rims black or are they supposed to be body color ??????? thanx kansasjohn
