    Fuel Pump question

    Hi,

I have to change the fuel pump. My car is a1960 t-bird. But I'm not sure that the car has the orignal engine. The engine code is
C 1AE-6015-G which indicates 1961, I think. The fuel pump I have today looks exakt like in the picture I'm attaching. It does not look like an original fuel pump for a 1960 T-bird. It looks more like a pump that fits a Ford 1966 to 1971 352, 390 or 428 ciu engine. It is said that it fits FORD Y, BB "FE". Do you think I can use it on my engine? Grateful for help!

Yes, you can use it. The original pump had a diaphragm for the vacuum wipers. Other than that it's basically the same.

        Fuel pump

If when cranking it doesnt start .. could it be that the part which goes into the engine ... (that long part) was wrongly inserted?... coz i just changed mine and it seem it wont start 🤔🤔🤔

No. It can't be put in incorrectly. If it doesn't start you may have to prime the pump by pouring some gas into it. It also helps to fill the carburetor bowls.

I presume you have the workshop manual but this is the page relating to fuel pump installation
