Inside door handle

Hi all,
The inside door handle dosent seem to spring back to its original position after you open the door. The door trim is not on yet so this is not creating additional friction.

Is there a spring somewhere there should make this return.

There is a small spring in the control mechanism behind the door which breaks. Springs are available, but the channel of the vent frame assembly interferes with its' removal.
