Scott ~ ss396t6 has a friend in Houston who has a neighbor who needs help. Here is what Scott sent me from his friend.
"Scottie", my neighbor has a 2004 T-Bird that she loves. Her wiper cowl molding has become misshapen due to age and (presumably) light exposure. It is a one-piece part which includes the rubber piece which constitutes the seal at the bottom of the windshield. This piece is now flapping against her windshield and causing an annoying noise when she drives over 75 MPH, which she does on her commutes to visit her mom in Orange.
I have attempted to repair this for her, but there simply isn't enough overlap anymore to glue the rubber to the windshield. The plastic has contracted. Ford no longer makes the part and nobody is making an aftermarket version yet.
This is just a wild plea, but if you hear of anyone who says, "Oh, yeah, I owned one of the retro-birds but it got totaled from the rear," please put me in touch with them. I know it's unlikely, but I can hope."
If anyone knows of a 2002-2005 Retro-Bird that has been in a wreck from the rear with the front intact, or that particular part intact, please post the contact information here and I will see that Scott gets it and passes it on to his friend in Houston.
