I see that a couple of dozen people have viewed this thread so far. Here is a clue.... It has a modified 1948 Mercury flathead V-8 under that 7 foot long hood....

How Well Do You Know Your Classic Cars?
Bingo! How did you find it? I happened to find it while looking for some other cars and ran across some pix and an article about it. It is still alive, and was fairly recently sold at auction for $100K+. It has been fully restored and still running the original '48 Mercury engine. Because of that '48 engine, she has been called the 1948 Templeton Saturn Roadtser, and the 1950 Templeton Saturn Roadster. Because he made it in 1950, and then did some refinements to it in 1951 and showed it again in 1952 across the country. It is a ONE OFF car, the only one like it ever built. Rather than tell you more about her, I will post some links regarding her for ya'll to enjoy. On this first link, clicking on the Small pix will enlarge them for better viewing.

How Well Do You Know Your Classic Cars?
Hi Chris, I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder! One of the articles I read said that the rear end came from a boat! Part of the front end was from a Packard, I think it said. It went on to detail what other parts came from other cars, as I recall. We are lucky to still have it with us, regardless of what one might think of her. After they got her back from loaning her to Bob Hope for awhile (he was gonna use it in a movie, but they never did), it was shown around the country for quite some year. Then one of the builders son's bought it and kept it for years until his death. The Father had passed on and now both the sons have also. Then someone else got it, and eventually it was restored to it's former glory and it is still alive today.

Ray
I ran an image search for a blue convertible with a modified 1948 Mercury flathead V-8 and was lucky!
I don't know if it has a roof of any type.Would that make it a roadster?

Peter, I see the clue I gave about the engine is what gave it away. lol.. Well, I hope people had fun trying to determine what the mystery car was. I never saw any mention of it having a top to it, or pix with a top on it.
