    Window relay

Recently purchased a 59 Squarebird convertible and attempting to rewire. Can anyone tell me where to get a new or used window relay ?

I don't believe new ones are available. You can contact Carl Heller (partsetal). He probably has used ones.

If you want it to appear 'stock' then John's suggestion stands. If you don't care, any 40-amp relay will work. I recently added 12-V electric start to my emergency generator with a small pushbutton and one of those 40-amp 'ice cube' relays from a modern car. Works great.

The 'window relay' coil is powered by your key switch. The contacts are fed from your battery (starter solenoid).

There should be a self-resetting circuit breaker at the relay contacts to protect the wiring. - Dave

Found the problem today. A cable to the AC was creating a short. Thanks for the suggestions !
