Steering Gear Box Lub.

I need to know which lub. to use in the steering gearbox in my 60 Bird,with manual steering. Thanks,

Lube ...

I just use general purpose grease. remove plug and pump it full with a grease gun. Mike

Dont fill it all the way to the top though. Leave a little headspace in there.

With the heat of the engine, it will expand and leak out the bottom for awhile.

Ask me how I know this....
(yes, I did replace the lower oil seal on mine, but it leaked anyways. It stopped after a few months of driving)
