cable routing for aftermarket-style heater core water valve?

What the best way to run the control cable for the heater core water valve? (I'm going to be using the replacement valve that mounts on the engine side of the firewall)

Original cable stopped inside the plenum by the heater core. New cable will have to go thru the firewall somewhere....

    Thanks

I bought that but didn't put it in yet. I think it came with a cable not sure i'll look tomorrow. If you look at most fords after 60 the valve is about 8-10 inchs off the fire wall. I'll look at my 66 that's under the hood. Real stupid design on the early ones.

I'm just trying to avoid "re-inventing the wheel" here.

The heater core water valve cable needs to pierce the firewall somewhere... I'm just curious as to how others have already done it.

          Heater control ...

Sorry I don't have a better pic, but if memory serves I put a short sleeve of Tygon tubing over the cable and ran it thru the same grommet as the heater hose. Mike

            pcv valve

Sorry to hi jack this thread, but i see a 90degree pcv valve set up on your engine.... What partnumber did you use..
I have the same valve covers

Did you run it into the large port on the back of holley carb,

And do you have just a normal breather on the other side or have you piped into the air cleaner base

            Thanks Tony

              Pcv ...

I'm away from the shop for the winter, but you should be able to go to any parts store and tell them you want a 90 deg application for any FE ford. Yes, PVC line goes to back of carb. The other cover has a standard breather. Mike

                Thanks Tony

For what its worth, I have the PCV to the carb base, and a breather on the other side piped into the air cleaner base.
