Rock Auto has the fuel tank for $154.79 and the straps for $19.81. You're probably not going to get them any cheaper than that. There's also a 5% discount available.

Hi Jolene, I am glad to hear that the tests came out okay. If you order the gas tank and straps from Rock Auto, you might also need the o-ring and locking ring, unless yours is okay. Keep in mind that Rock Auto is a member of this Forum and they give a discount to us on Squarebirds.org. You can find the discount code in the Advertisements Forum.

        Ray,

Every tank I've ordered has come with a new gasket and locking ring.

Thanks, John, that is good to know. I did know that if you order off of feeBay from the company that makes the tanks in Canada that they come with those parts. I was not sure about Rock Auto, but they are probably getting their tanks from that company. I think they are the only company making Tbird tanks these days.

              I'm baaaaaaaaack!

Can it be that its really been a year since I've been on the boards? Dodged another bullet or a series of them...in and out of hospital...been a rough year....still have the Bird- still haven't made progress...they were working on the carb when my dad got sick and then I followed...he's better- but I'm still recovering- when dad opened the hood a while ago before they starting working on the car, he discovered a rusty old pipe looking item laying next to the carb. He has no clue what it is. But he kept it on the side. Now that they are having issues with the carb- he remembered that piece that he found. Any clues fellas at to what it may be. I do have photos...I hope that everyone is doing well- best, Jolene

Sorry to hear that you've been under the weather. Can you post a picture of the pipe you are referring to. I don't recall what it could be off hand.
