This weekend, I have a Volvo C30 full Electric car. Quite a different feeling. Of course I love the sound of my FE 390, but this baby is very exciting.
Quite powerful and yes, very quiet.

Itīs a very strange feeling when you turn the key, and there is absoloutley no sound what so ever. Put in "Drive", and still just as quiet as when you entered the car. Take the foot off the brake and it just goes. Odd. Totally odd. But very exciting. And good torque as well.

With "normal, a bit careful" driving approx. 150 km. With "Throttle down, Racing all the time" approx. half the distance.

I always liked the C30. Same platform, I believe, as my Mazda3 and the Euro Focus, from back when Ford owned a significant stake in all three.

Electric motors produce great torque and the torque peak is at zero RPM. There's a guy here in the states with an old Datsun (Nissan) sedan converted to electric with two fork truck motors. He drag races it and embarrasses the heck out of Corvettes and old muscle cars. I guess it just rockets out of the hole.
