schrader valve

there is a shrader air valve mounted on the rear of my 430 & also on my friend's 352 engine jusr above the bell housing
What is this for ????

From what I know, it's used to connect to a pressure gauge when adjusting the transmission.

If you look in the Shop Manual in the transmission section, you'll find the pressure readings at different RPM's.
