Hello all, Ian from New Zealand. I am a new T-bird owner and I am having a problem with the drivers door power window. It does move up and down ok, but when it goes up it does shudder a wee bit but not a biggy. The main problem is it slips down 20 to 40mm when I am on the move and I have to continually push it back up. When moving up to the home position it sounds as the motor is still driving!!!. So I was wanting to know where to start or what the issue could be. Being in NZ I have very limited options on part suppliers and due to the expense I did not want to have to buy a series of parts that I might not have to. So any and all help would be appreciated, thanks.

There's a rubber coupling between the motor and the gear. If that strips the motor will be jerky and continue to run. It's part number 23440 in the diagram. That may or may not be causing the window to slip down.

That coupling is a common part, sold by many vendors.Member, Sons of the American Revolution
