    1960 Squarebird Review~Tom McCahill

This article was provided to me by Jay Davidson. This review is from the July 1960 Mechanics Illustrated magazine. It is as old as the 1960 Squarebird and not in the best condition. However, I thought many of you would enjoy seeing what a well known Tbird owner and reviewer had to say about it towards the end of it's production run. Thanks for the copy, Jay.

It's certainly a colorful review, if not all that informative.

I wonder if the 10.6 seconds 0-60 time was made in D2 or D1? It's pretty much the figure I see quoted everywhere, but starting in second gear (D2) would have a significant impact on acceleration times. They aren't rockets, but I'm thinking they ought to do better than that if started in D1.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane--pure McCahill. I used to love reading his reviews
as they were for people who loved driving, lived cars and wanted an honest perspective.
Sadly that later changed and he was reigned in by the publishers and manufacturers.
