    Bogus '58 Convertible on Ebay???

I am curious to hear what you guys think of the listing on Ebay at item # 230005742948

It is a teal, '58 convertible. Has a ton of pictures. Claims to have 49,332 miles on it and a given VIN.

I poked through the pictures out of curiosity and found a set of WHITE instruments showing 49,332 miles. There is also a door shot which shows NO build plate on the door pillar.

Since it would appear that the odometer came from some other car, someone could be bidding on a car under the assumption that they are getting a very low mileage convertible when in fact the mileage could be almost anything.

    What do you think??

PS the air filter housing looks a little foreign, too.

There are a lot of fake 1958 T-bird convertibles out there.

This is not a well cared for original, even it is real. You would want to see the VIN number on the frame.

The things that show that this is not a low mileage original besides the wrong color instruments, is the early 1960's FE engine. The brake vacuum reservoir is outside the fender. The door panels have a custom pattern that is definitely not original. The seat backs are wrong. The seat themselves have a pattern that is similar to the original, but not correct.

Be careful. Less that a month ago my eBay account was hacked and someone listed a motorcycle in my name along with a ton of photos. I caught the intrusion before any bids were made and canceled the ad. After that, I notified eBay and changed every account password I have doing with $$. I notified the FBI because this was fraud.

I heard from a birdie that another birdie recognized the garage which was in the background of the photos and informed the FBI. It turned out someone came into the shop a week or so earlier asking to take photos of the bike to show his wife and the owner agreed...

Now they have a discription of the actor.
