    Brass window rollers

There were some discussions about the brass window rollers being made for the earlier birds. Are they available for purchase? If so, any details would be appreciated, or any info on the roller system. Thanks!

See them on eBay but no longer with the metal roller but nylon with metal spring and washers . Vender mentions that manufacturer will no longer be making them .

      Brass window rollers

Don, the subject of the availability of brass window rollers has been discussed in quite a bit of detail over the last number of years. They WERE or ARE still available, maybe. You would have to contact CASCO, who was marketing them for the 1955-1957 Babybirds, and they just so happen to be the very same part numbers used in the 1958-1960 Squarebirds! When I saw your post and Martin's reply, I did a quick search on Brass window rollers and came up with a number of threads regarding them. Here is the search results, first.

      http://www.squarebirds.org/vbulletin...archid=2440521

In that list, you will find this link below that points you to CASCO and other possible sources. There are also other threads you can check into. But this link below takes you directly to CASCO, the one source for these brass window rollers that was still marketing them as of last year...

Regarding Martin ~ 60 T-Bird, he sails the world a lot, and I do not know if he ever got around to mass marketing the ones he made, or not. Send him a PM and ask him. If he responds and if he still makes them, PLEASE let us know, as so many would rather have the brass ones instead of the plastic ones. Also, the information that I posted in that second link regarding CASCO stocking them was as of Feb 2017, so, lets hope they still do, because they are identical, they say, to what were used in the Squarebirds. If you call them on Monday and find out they no longer sell them or still do, PLEASE post and tell us what they say... Thanks!

Window rollers were a 'purchased part' that many car companies also used. It's like the hydraulic brake light (pressure) switch. Chevy used the same one and so does my Harley.

So far, I have only found one size window roller. The same roller that fits the T-bird also fits many other models, spread over many years. - Dave
