    Head gasket question

I am having the heads on my 62 T-bird done by a local machine shop. When I removed the heads from the engine, I was surprised to see a brass looking gasket sitting between the heads and the block. Is this stock or could it be aftermarket? Would I be better off re-using these (they appear to be in excellent shape) or should I replace them with aftermarket pieces? The engine never had any leakage problems with them on there, so I thought about re-using them. Thanks.

They need to be replaced preferably with FEL-PRO composition gaskets.

What you have must be old style steel gaskets. They were used mainly on HI-PO applications.
