Motor is In a 1960 hard top

Heads- c1ae. 6090a

Block- c2ae on side not the normal 352 you would normally see. Car had Mercury valve covers when I got it. Date code 2f29. 2 bolt engine mount to block.

Stroke measures 3.78

Intake manifold- c2ae9425c. Date code 2f21

Timing gear cover- c3ae-6059-a

Any help greatly appreciated. I did not measure bore yet since I do not own a precise measuring tool.

Dan, your parts come off of a 1961-1963 car. You might want to look at this to see an explanation of part number breakdowns.

Heads- c1ae. 6090a = c=1960's - 1=1960 year - Car line=a=Galaxie (S=Thunderbird) Engineering Department=e=Engine component.

Block- c2ae = A 1962 block - a=Galaxie e=Engineering Department=Engine component. Same thing for your intake manifold and your timing gear cover. Block Date code 2f29=2=1962 - f=June - 29=29th day of June. Intake manifold - Date code 2f21= 1962 June 21st. Timing gear cover- c3ae=1963.

These components might indicate that you have a 390ci engine and not a 352. Someone with more knowledge than I have can probably tell you more.

If your stroke measures more than 3.5 then you have a 390.
