Cool Another "stainless" article:

Here is a link to a recent article on 1 of the 2 stainless steel T-Birds. I found this over on the VTCI site:

http://www.autoweek.com/article/2010...CTOR/100629962

I think it is too cool that the stories of these rare Birds keep "popping up" from time to time. I bet Allegheny-Ludlum Steel never bet on having this much advertising over these cars back then!!

Jon:

A belated thanks! That is a good article and worthwhile reading for anyone just beginning to get a sense of the uniqueness of the stainless 'Birds.

By chance, tomorrow (7/11/10) will be the 50th anniversary of those cars coming off the line.

John,
I'll have to look thru my literature for a brochure on the SS TBird published by the Steel Company. If I recall correctly the cover listed the date of 07/11/10 for it's 50th annv and that the body will be no worse for the wear being Stainless Steel.

Mistaken, the brochure was dated for 40 years, July 11, 2000. I'll attched the first 3 pages, hopefully legible. Ray has already posted all the pictures inside this booklet under the Stainless Steel Thunderbird Thread.
