Thanks for the input, Dave! I see while I was typing this, jopizz just gave us some additional information. He said it IS a 4BBL Weber-Edelbrock 1406, but Edelbrock just told me on the phone that they have no relationship with Weber anymore and have not had for years! Weber was a contractor with Edelbrock for quite a few years and used to make carb bodies for Edelbrock. But not anymore, and in recent years, the Weber name has been left off the Edelbrock carbs. So this carb has been around for a good number of years, apparently. However, if yours also has the Edelbrock label on the front and is stamped with the 1406, you have a very good carb. I have one, and many on here also have one and swear by them. I see others advertising these as Weber-Edelbrock 1406's... So, Kirsten, it looks like you have a 600CFM 4BBL carb, and if it has the Edelbrock label and 1406 on the front, that tells you who actually made it, though it is an older unit. But they are good carbs... I wonder if that is an Edelbrock intake manifold on her Tbird? Any way to tell?

It's a Ford cast iron manifold. You can tell by the firing order stamped on the back and the oil fill tube. Edelbrock intakes don't have either.

It's a 1406, great carb, but you'll probably have to add a small nut and bolt in the linkage to get the secondaries to fully open at full throttle.

I don't know why you had to add a nut and bolt. I didn't and my secondaries opened all the way and I had the same carb and stock linkage.

Based on Holley experience you shouldn’t do the nut and bolt thing unless you want a big ‘dead spot’ when you put the pedal to the floor.

People frequently look down the carb, wind the throttle open and notice the secondary throttle plates/flaps don’t move, even with the motor running.
Then think they need to do the nut and bolt thing.
Wrong!
The secondaries will open only when the vacuum drops enough as in when you’re driving and punch the throttle, remember it’s a ‘vacuum secondaries’ carb, not a ‘double pumper’

Sure the nut and bolt deal will make the secondaries open - but now you have lots of air entering the carb but no extra fuel so get a lean mixture, a double pumper carb has a secondary accelerator pump to cope with this, a vacuum secondary carb does not.

Kirsten sent me pic of a couple of parts in Indian Turquoise that she wants to know what they are for. I think they are part of the section under the two front seats, those pieces below the seat cushion and the carpet. I have pieces off my front seats that look like them. Mine were taken off, stripped of the black material similar to that on the sides of the tranny tunnel, and sent out for chroming.. It looks to me that at some time in the past , a PO of her '60 had them on, but took them off when they went to an all white interior... Here are pix of mine and then the two pix she sent me... After looking at those pix again, mine, being a '59, do not look quite like those in turquoise, which, I assume, are for a '60..

They're the same pieces. All Squarebirds use the same ones. Maybe the angle is confusing you.

Thanks, John, now I understand.. Apparently, Kirsten found them on another site and was wondering what they were for. Now we know, and I have been able to tell her that if she wanted to paint her sections under the seats Indian Turquoise, those pieces can pretty easily be taken off, painted and put back on. That would give her an Indian Turquoise base under the car seats. I know that down the road, she is thinking of painting the seat sides, or the seats and backs Indian Turquoise with SEM paint, and maybe the center console also...
