    Rear Antenna Placement

    Howdy Gents and Ladies!

Just found the ever elusive rear radio antenna for my 59 Bird. As we are in the body refinishing before paint, I'd like to seal the other fender antenna hole.

Anyone have any pics or measurements to where these rear antenna mounts were placed?

I've seen some near the top of the trunk, some in the middle.

    Wondering what was 'Factory'

    Many thanks,
    Derik

If you look under the trunk lid you will see that the holes are already in place in the frame where it mounts.

Glad I could help. By the way does your rear deck antenna have the grooves in the base or is it flat. There were two different styles.

I'd like to see a picture of it just to see if there is a difference from the 57 deck antennas.

            Antenna-Style

Has the grooves. What is the difference besides what we can see perhaps early as opposed to later year? I got it for 40 bucks.

The one with the grooves is part # B9S-18813-A (correct for Squarebirds). The one without the grooves is part # C0AF-18813-B which is correct for Ford passenger cars. I have seen some without the grooves on Squarebirds so the factory may have used both styles. You got a steal for $40 if it's new old stock.

                Grooves to Flat Style

Good to hear. Ya, the guy had done a restoration on one and had a lot of parts which went fast. I also got the complete Tire Jack.
