    Info On '58 Convertibles

Martin, up Canada way, sent me this info and pix regarding the '58 Convertible, which might be of interest to some of you who own one.

"Not sure if this is of any use to you or if I may have sent them before. One is of the 1958 introduction slides to Ford employees. The other is of a ‘ well driven “ used engine bay showing the original breather with interceptor sticker still in place. Also note the “ old Ford blue “ engine colour. Looks identical to the original ’58 slide. That car was for sale a few years ago and also showed an original trunk matting. Note the original “ TAN “ skid pads instead of the black only that is available today in after market trunk kits for ’58 and ’59’s. Talked with the manufacturer when I restored my ’58 but they would not do the correct material colour. So, made my own. Also had to make the edging trim in tan and the buttons for the side boards."

Here are the three pix that Martin sent me.
