Just bought a 1971 two-door Landau Thunderbird from an estate sale. Great shape and perfect interior. Just felt I had to have it! Of course like all 'Birds that have been sitting up for years the windows don't work but the big ole 429 purrs like a cat - really big cat. Looking forward to getting this one out on the road. I will share some photos with you guys when I get the dust off.

71 bird 429
Back in mid 70's my grandparents had same bird took it to florida as they had several times before last time engine let loose the only engine they could get in timely fashon was the beast 460 would pass everything except gas station. Good luck and good luck with windows. Jeff -
The 460 was de-tuned at the factory, to conform with emissions. The cam was retarded by nearly fifteen degrees. A good mechanic could turn that around by doing a proper cam/crank degree job for the cost of a timing cover gasket set. - DaveMember, Sons of the American Revolution
