I understand that there is a company that is making a air conditioning system for 1958-60 T- Birds that did not come with it from the factory. is there anyone here that has had that system install and working in there T- Birds? I am interested in getting this for my car.

Experience so far
So far we are in the process of installing the newest Vintage air/heat system in the car. I wanted the largest possible because of it being a convertible. I also have had great experience with Vintage Air. We did get the brackets for the compressor from classic and spent a bunch of time trying to get belts hooked up. I dont know what water pump pulley they used but their brackets did not line up with the stock non air pulley. We ended up going with a later water pump and pulley. Inside the car plan on losing most if not all of your glove compartment. The reason the stock A/C car had the big box on the firewall is......no room under the dash..... especially with the lower set back of the dash. We put a lot of effort into cleaning up the firewall and making it smooth (filled the motor hole) so everything fits inside. It looks like the classic unit fits under the dash but we are still looking at ways to make additional room for the VA. In hindsight I would strongly consider building a nice metal box that would bolt to the firewall and add the additional room needed for the underdash unit. Part of the size issue is based on what you want. I am using a factory vent in the dash above the radio and more vents in the lower surround and wanted to be able to adjust between them. Running that many hoses takes up a lot of room so a simpler unit will be smaller. Just my observations yours may vary....GrantGrant
