I used Autozone's loan-a-tool program to get a pickle fork in the past. You basically buy the tool and keep it as long as you need. Once you're done you return it for a full refund.
I've kept tools for many months, over a year I believe, and had no issues returning them.Comment

This is the pickle fork I have used ever since I was 12...
It is very simple in design. I don't have more than one, and it has worked flawlessly on every ball joint and tie rod end I have put it to.
Believe me over many decades, I have walloped this thing silly, re-dressed the end on a grinding wheel, and it still begs for more abuse. It's one of those tools that isn't used often but when you need one, nothing works better. Mine has saved me countless hours of frustration and quickly gets the job done.
Mine isn't plated and the only marking on it is, "USA". - DaveMember, Sons of the American Revolution
