    paint code/color

I want to do some paint touch-up (rock chips, etc.) on my black '60 hardtop. Does anyone know what paint code or modern number equivalent would work for this?
I want to buy some paint and airbrush out the nicks but don't know exactly what to ask for.

    thanks,
    Casey

    RE: paint code/color

The Raven Black on the 1960 Thunderbird is a very standard color of black that is easily found today. It is M30J paint code number 1724 or Ditzler code DQE-9000-DAL . I had fender skirts painted by a paint shop without even having the car in the shop, and it matched perfectly. The cans of paint in the auto shops that are universal black will match. The only problem is that the sun exposed parts of the car such as the roof, hood and trunk may have some discoloration over 40 plus years, so your touch-up paint won't match.
