    Dash colors.

First of all a happy 2013 to everybody.

I have a question regarding the interior dash/console colors (squarebirds). I have the book of Wiliam wonder and could not find the answer.

How many dash colors were available? I have seen two types of blue, red, green, black.

What were the criteria for Ford? I think red seats with black dash were not possible? Or could you make it up yourself?

I have seen t-birds with red seats and black dash for instance.

Would be nice to know for the correct search knowledge in the future. As i want a color correct matching number car.

      Thanks

Yes i am aware of those pages.

Maybe my question was not clear.

      For instance:
You have turquoise ('60 trim 57) vinyl seats. Then the dash pad and center is also dark turquoise? Or can it be black?

How many dashpad colors were there? As many as upholstery colors? And which combinations were possible.

The dash color always matched the outer bolster of the seat or the entire seat if it was leather except for the light tan leather seats in 1960; then it was dark tan. For example the two tone turquoise you mentioned. The dash color would be the same as the darker turquoise. There were no other color choices available. In 1960 you had black, red, dark turquoise, dark blue, dark green and dark tan.

All this info was put into the last version of the VTCI concourse rules. Alan assembled all this info in easy to use tables.

            Dash colors.

The VTCI Concours Rules are available for FREE to VTCI members, from the Country Store. The link to the VTCI site is:

            http://www.vintagethunderbirdclub.net/index.htm

If you are a VTCI member, as many of us are, you can get it for free from the VTCI Forum. Here is the link.

            http://www.vintagethunderbirdclub.ne...pic.php?t=4272

It is no longer .org, but .net

Everyone should have a copy of the VTCI Official Factory Specifications (OFS) for their 1958-1960, 1961-1963, and 1964-1966 Tbird.. You have to be a VTCI member though. They put out a great magazine called The Scoop, every two months. Lots of good information in it. You can join VTCI from their website. Once a member, you can order the OFS for your Tbird from the Country Store.
