    Lower Radiator Mounts

When I removed the radiator I found that the lower left radiator mount capture nut had rusted out. After fishing out the remnants with a magnet-on-stick I ordered replacements. They have different threads than the originals which is not a huge deal but I cannot figure out how to get the replacement into the hole! It just seems too big, but on the bench comparing to the rusted remnant I'm not seeing a difference in dimensions... Is there a trick or tool I need?
Related question...how to I remove the center and right hand side mounts?
Another related question...should I just forget the whole thing and just go with two mounts ? Perhaps coincidentally, but perhaps not, the radiator leak that started this adventure was on the left hand side.
As Always Thanks In Advance For The Advice!

    Del,
The long part of the nut goes in first, then you might need the bolt inserted to tilt it upward.

Where did you purchase the clips? What is the part number?

Wow, that's a good find at a hardware store. I always thought these were Ford designed parts with limited applications.

I couldn't find them 6-8 years ago when I was working on mine. Found some caged nuts that were close but didn't hold. Finally drilled a hole in the end of a flat piece of metal about 1/2 inch wide and 2 inches long (barely fit in the opening) and welded it on to a bolt.

The flat piece of metal goes in the opening and holds the bolt in place but it hits the top of the inside of the cross member which prevents it from turning. The bolt sticks out to put the radiator on. Kind of looks like a T with one side hacked off - the bolt is the stem of the T. (hope that makes sense). Put a piece of thin plastic on the front side of the bolt to keep it from falling back in the cross member.

                        Oh well it worked.......

It pays to shop around although it's time consuming since there are so many vendors.
