Replaced them lifters and car sounds like a deisle truck

    hi Barry

    two things I would be curious to have you check for:

    1) when you get to your old oil pump, see how clogged the screen on the bottom is. Take a photo if you can

    2) the shafts on the rocker arm assemblies can also get clogged inside. You might take the cap out of an end and make sure there is not alot of sludge in there.

    I had a high mileage motor and both items were all clogged up with disaster not far away.

    Fyi: I was able to buy a stock FE oil pump in the local auto parts store. Took them 4 hours to get from their warehouse. Some people suggest getting a new shaft that goes up to the distributor at the same time.
