    LOL

    I'm purdy quick sometimes!

before we get to price, we need to plan the best avenue for choosing color/material/shipping methods

I've checked on ebay for material just recently and its a wide open field....colors and material...
I'll be talking to my aunt tomorrow for further information.

Have not thought if the person ordering said seats or door panels would BUY the material and have it shipped to me, or if I would buy it....

I guess one can choose shipping by USPS, UPS or DHL depending on the best service and price.

the end result would be far cheaper than the previously posted prices....I'm not trying to make a living out of someone else's bill fold - I'm in the same spot myself!

For those of you interested and so inclined, you may be able to make your own panels and have them upholstered at a shop or do that yourself too. Some time ago I had submitted a post to a thread similar to this one where I had somewhat explained and shown pics of how I had made repro panels for my '58. Go to http://www.fototime.com/inv/57F8EACECABB57D. One of the pics posted there is a series pic of the steps I had gone thru to fabricate the repro panels. I can offer further tutiliage if you want to direct email me to askhow@aol.com.

Cathie, without now looking at the pics, that is either Sailor or Jazmine in the pics. Sailorette is the X's yellow lab. Jazmine is a real helper when it comes to working in the shop as she always has gotta be right beside me. You can check out the advert I run here in the Squarebirds.org services offered section for some basic info and pricing. Or you can email me, askhow@aol.com, and I shall send you a complete discertation on the actual "how to" of what I do to restore a wheel, and a break down of materials used. Thanks for asking!

passenger door of '58. Only 4 pieces of material. Lower white portion has oval indentations mentioned earlier.

will get a close up tomorrow showing texture. The ovals are identical to the surrounding material; just stamped into it.

Hey Cathie, if you like I can send you the old vinyl off of my door panels after I get new ones. I dont know if they would do you any good as a pattern because the door panels have shrunk about 3/4 of an inch. It would give you an idea as to how they are made and the stitching on the arm rests.

Can keep that in mind...its not so bad working off of something you know has a flaw - would be nothing to add the extra....
                              thanks!

I failed miserably to get a photo of the texture of the material on the '58. Meager photography skills...

The material seems to be leather simulated in the same manner as the stick-on vinyl that Ford used on my console and the tops of the doors (both cases stuck on to metal).

The lower white portion is the same and the ovals are the same.

So it does have texture to it and it does have grooves and so on. It is not just smooth vinyl.

If I can snooker the camera into a good photo I will still get one. I might have to... heaven forbid...read the camera manual!!

Till then... file me under "not much use"....
