HI Gang, weird thing started yesterday, I've got the Holley carb on my Bird, and yesterday after driving for about 10 miles and shutting it off for an hour or so, when I started the engine it idles for a few seconds then stalled out. I opened the hood and pulled the air cleaner off and the secondaries were getting gas dripped in to them at a pretty steady pace while the motor was running. First time that's happened. Could it be the float is stuck open ??

Sounds like either a leaking float or a sticking/worn needle valve.

I had the same problem years ago..........if I were going up a hill the car would cut off. It ended up being the needle valves. I pulled them out and they had a "residue" of some type on the little rubber tips. I guess they were sticking .......causing the engine to be choked of fuel. I cleaned them off and it never happened again.Comment
