    WTB 58-59 D/Lid Supts

    Looking for 58-59 T/B style D/lid
lifts or supports. The spring loaded
canisters that hold the lid up.

I need them for temporary replacement
to use on my 60 (until I can get the top
working again) so I can access my trunk

Please PM me, email or call

    Thanks,
    John Byers

John: I may have a set of these '58/'59 springs and canisters but be aware that they do not hold the trunk open all the way. they only lift the deck lid about a foot or less and then you open the deck lid ( trunk lid ) by hand to fully open . Once the top is down , or up , you manually lower the trunk by hand and then close the trunk lid against the spring tension . To open these early type you would need solenoids to release the lid from the lock gears .

Still interested , I will try to find them .

    Martin .

      That's what I want.
My electrical still works. The deck unlocks,
and if I raise the lid manually (takes 2 men & a mule)
the tray will flip. Just no hyd power. I have a new
FoMoCo motor. When it was still working, the deck
lid would bleed down, so I need d/lid cys too.

This is just a temporary fix so I can access the trunk (spare
      tire-etc.

If I still have problems, I may just change it over to the (simple)
59 system. The 60 set up is a P-I-T-A when something goes wrong.

How much do you think ($)
