    If the whole unit is out, bad float or not I may as well replace it since it does not cost much money.
    I could have swore it has been replaced.
    I have good records back to 1980 on it, seems so recent but then I recall the car is from 62.
    But then again that is a ways back, ha ha ha.

    Thanks for your help and sorry again for the frustration last night.

          Looks like there are two diff types of floats, metal and plastic??? Is the metal the best to get?

            Tim, since I had a plastic float that was full of gas when I pulled it out years ago, you may want to consider the metal one... Not only was it full of gas but after decades of being in that gas, the rheostat in the fuel sending unit was corroded, so I put a new unit in and was done with it.
