The car turned out very nice Ray . I definitely like the blackwalls better than the raised white letters, of course we know white walls would be best though, and I still think it needs some pinstriping at the paint transitions to really set it off .

    Nice Job

      "Tweety Bird" Revealed!!

      Hi Paul,

Thanks for the comments. We tried some pin striping to see what it would look like. We tried 2-3 different colors. We all thought it looked better without the pin striping. I might look at that again though.

Ray, try using the yellow and applying it on the white, but leave a 1/8 or 3/32 gap between the yellow pinstripe and the yellow paint or do the opposite and put a white stripe on the yellow paint, just throwing some things out there to look at.

If you don't do anything it still looks good .

pin-striping on a color pallet like those.. the best colors that make it all pop are tan, sky blue, and a crisp white... some times even certain shades of green look really killer... dont know what colors youve tried, but theres my 2 pennies worth

            "Tweety Bird" Revealed!!

Thanks for the information. Much appreciated. We tried white and turquoise. We would have tried yellow, but they were out of it. We tried turquoise because I have a full roll of it and also the Tbird emblems are turquoise. Down the road, I might try again, only this time find some yellow. It was the opinion of the paint and body staff that pin striping did not do anything for her looks. So we did not pin stripe her.

I would probably end up with a grey or silver or perhaps even better, gold pin stipe if it was between yellow & white. Just to give it a "touch of craftmanship" and keep the soft feel and not so strong contrast as black would do.
Turqous is very green and your yellow is on the warm sid ( red ), so that might look a bit harch.
A tan / light brown or ocra would most probably also blend in nicely, but would perhaps work even better if your interior was tan or brown.

there are a ton of pinstripe artist around.. most any of them could custom blend you a color that would look perfect.. ive got an awesome metallic brass from one shot that i use all the time verry clean and subtle.

Ray, I havent been to the forum much in the last couple months. The last pictures I saw of your car is when they were just getting started with the yellow paint. This morning I read thru this compete post and looked at all the photos. I have to say that Rose turned out absolutely beautiful. You have got to be proud of her. Great job.

Can I chime in with others and say white walls. But she is a stunning the way she sits, no need to rush into those. Than again, how long is it going to take to wear those tires out.

                  Fantastic job Ray.

                    "Tweety Bird" Revealed!!

Thank you for the nice comments, Victor! Yup, I think she looks pretty smart! I get a lot of thumbs up, and hollers of "Nice Car!" and stuff like that, as I go driving by people. Yes, white walls would really set her off, but as bad to keep clean as white lettering is. At least the white lettering is now turned to the inside on all the tires. She is resting in the garage the last few days, but I will have her out on the road again this coming week.

Hi Ray, I lost the link to your yellow rose restoration. The one that has photos of the inside. I can not get into my E-Mail at this time. Att&t has me blocked out. I am having a hard time getting them to un block it. So for now send through this site. I hope you are doing well. Bob Couture

Hi Bob! I see that you were trying to access the old link to my customization of my 1959 Casino Cream & White Squarebird. Unfortunately, that link was on Fortune City and when they went out of business that link has not worked. I thought all my pix and the link was lost, but today I found them and have re-created it for all to see here on the Forum. I went back to Page 1 on this thread, deleted the Fortune City link and put in the new one. To save you from having to go back to Page 1, I made a few slight changes to show what she looked like when I bought her in November, 2007, and then after my interior and paint guys worked their magic! Below is that new link! I hope it will be of use to you and others...
