When I was stepping up my tyres (you know it's supposed to be tires , just kidding...) I was told you could run up to the 245x60 on the 7" rim, but that was the max.

If you check this web site, this is where I got my tires from. It gives the dimensions of the tires and you could use it to figure out if they would clear on your car... that's what I did.

I started out with tires that size also... they are now on my other 65 TBird. I noticed a big improvement in the ride and handling of the car changing tires by the way. Oh and I also lowered the car 2" from stock.

I see you have some kind of 'cover' around the door-puul, is that factory?

I've noticed all Flairbirds seem to have an 'issue' with the vinyl around the door-pull.

Yes, it was all split and cracked out around the door pull on both sides, a friend of mine that has an upholstery shop made those covers for me instead of replacing the entire door panel. They are metal covered to match the panel and being metal should help with the problem those pulls had.

I thought they came out very good, cost me $80 installed if I recall correctly

What do you all think of it?

I was going to ask about that. Very nice. My 66 has that problem.

Hmm, I wonder if he could make a set for people reasonably? I think they came out looking almost factory, m very happy with the result actually.
