January is finally here in VT. It was in the upper 50's last Thursday but today it did not go over 0 deg F.

Mad River Glen had a "Free Your Buns Off Coupon" at their site for today. With the coupon you could ski at MRG for $15.

Just a thought....

Its COLD here in VA. Last night it went down to 15 degrees........burrrrr !!! Last week it got up to 75 degrees one day...........then BANG .........Alberta clipper central.

19 degree high here in New York City, with icy winds all day. It may get into the single digits tonight.

With 60 degree weather last week, I was wondering where Winter went.

Squarebirds are all tucked in for the long winter.

It is horrible!
This AM in Northern New Jersey it was 12 degrees at 7AM. Windy, too.
The streets are covered with freshly dumped SALT and at every corner there is a pile of it, 2" thick, from where the truck stopped for the red light, and then jerked to go on green and a pile of the stuff dumped out, onto the street. All cars are powder coated in thick white dust of Sodium Chloride. Some towns dumped a combination of that PLUS mixed into it....SAND.

I hate the thought of what that salt does to my car. My T-birds do not go outdoors until after the first good rain of Spring.

It's 7am. 41 and Clear here in Lakeland, FL. Fortunetly, the freeze line has been staying at or near the FL/GA border.

It is 8AM, Wednesday the 19th January & it's SEVEN degrees (+7)
all streets are frozen over with white powdered SALT, and when a car goes down the street it looks like an explosion inside of a flour factory! It is truly horrid, and the 4-cast is for snow flurries this afternoon & 2-nite and an accumulation of 1 to 2 inches of white s_ _ t on the ground, and MORE (yes....more) coming on Sunday! Sundays is reported to be "substantial" ! It makes me sick to take my car out in this, yet, i'm gonna have to, beginning Friday.

they did not have them available today - must be warming up!
