Of all the color codes I have in my '60 database I only had one with a code of "L" and it was noted as having a blue exterior. Going back to it showed it was originally Gold Dust Metallic. I did list several Lincoln special-order colors in the '58-'60 OFS but this one got past me, in part because I didn't have an "L"-coded car in the database in 2005 when the OFS was being edited. In fact in the March-April '10 VTCI Thunderbird Scoop I listed colors/percentages, with the single aforementioned "L" that was ID'd as blue. I'll be revising this listing and having a revised version posted on VTCI's website some time in the next few weeks (have to do this anyway since the '59 interior info didn't get printed in the article). Needless to say I also now need to get the OFS pages updated for this and some other colors I've documented since 2005.

the 57 had an L code of Azure Blue and the 59 has Diamond Blue
the other years, 58 and 60 they dropped the L entirely, comes back out on the 61 as Sahara Rose...maybe it was an odd year thing with Ford...?

Okay here is the data plate

          63a u 56 16e 4 3

So the decoder shows it as a Rose Glow Met exterior with a black and white interior.

The car has a full extra set of door panels, tail lights, doors, deck lid, back glass.

          ......
          ......

They are supposed to drop the car off in my back yard at some point tomorrow.

I guess they were in trouble with the home owners assoc and needed it gone asap....

So I picked it up for $600.

Am a bit well, unsure about what I did.....

So now look my list of cars.....

          58, 59, 60, 64, 65 and 65 TBird

68 olds cutlass s and the 00 camaro ss, both verts.

It's starting to look that way. I traded a spot for this TBird for an old jet boat a friend has stored in my yard for the last year or so.

Right when the guy came and dropped the car, my friend showed up to get the boat....

Actually the guy left it and the car trailer it was on in my yard...

Well here are two photos the girl took of it in the yard.

I assume at some point he will come and get his trailer back....

Looks WAY different in color than on the ebay ad! He must have had it sitting where the sun happened to shine for a minute, I assume someone's getting sunshine anyways, LOL

Well, if he leaves the trailer, I can swing around and haul it home...Coral is lonely being the only bird...

                    Congrats Rusty!

I should have gotten photos of where I got the car from, and the guys that dropped it off. It was the definition of redneck.

Mobile-home with 6 derelict cars sitting around it, one derelict old motorhome, tool boxes lined up on the side, swap-cooler on the porch ran through a front window, doberman on a long chain in the year and a pitbull in a dog run frothing to get at us.....

So yeah, I think you about right. I paid him $20 more to have him load it and bring it to me.
