Does anyone know how to determine whether an engine is #'s matching. Also is there another i.d. plate in the car besides the one in the door jam. Thank You for your replies.

There is no VIN number on any Squarebird engine. There is no such thing as a matching numbers 1958-60 Thunderbird. The VIN is stamped in various places on the car. On the 1959 the VIN number is stamped on top of the round crossmember under the engine - you need a mirror to see it. On the 1960, the VIN number is on the right inner fender under the hood. The 1958 is on the front right frame rail.
