I used a 2 jaw puller. No problem with it coming off. I would guess with a leaking seal the yoke might slip off easier because the rear end grease may act like penetrating fluid.Comment

I started from the beginning of this thread yesterday, got through to post 400 or so, Keith you are a Artist. thank you for allowing us to watch you create! My question is, was there a place on the car that you were surprised that didn't have a bunch of rust?"You're never too old to become younger".! (M. West)

Thanks for compliments. I can't think of any place that surprised me about rust. What did surprise me was the 1/4 panel on the right side had a fiberglass patch panel. I had heard of them ,but that is the first one I ever ran in to. The second surprise was a used left 1/4 panel and rocker panel brazed on top of the original rusted 1/4 and rocker. Look at post 318.Comment

OMG, those pictures bring back so many memories. Are you keeping the drums or going to convert to disc? I've just about got my Bird together and will be posting some pictures soon. I've owned the car for over 25 years, but only really got serious about the restoration about 4 years ago. That's about how long it took me to get her done.
