Patrick, it is possible but you will need an electronic flasher unit. The OEM flasher works with current flow. LEDs are wonderful because they use less current, but the flasher will not work (like when a lamp is burned out).
So, there are two choices:
* If you replace the tail lights, you probably should replace ALL your bulbs with LEDs and buy the solid state flasher.
* Retain the original 1157 bulbs and keep it stock.

go here and on page 60 they have a diagram blowout of the taillights maybe this will help...
