    59 Convertible Trunk Hinge pins?

Anyone have a part number or supplier for the hinge pin on my 59 convertible trunck? Just need one, but need it bad. I haven't seen one in any of the catalogs, but haven't researched it either.

    Thanks.

    hinge pins

On my 60 convertible that we are doing we ran into the same problem. I never did find a supplier so we got a pin that was the correct length and had a machine shop turn it down to the correct diameter. Hope this helps. Grant

What problems occur with the hinge pins? Someone had warned me that the pins rust and may begin to seize, the advice was to keep lubricated.

Anything else to watch for? especially that would require a replacement.

To the original question, I was at Bob's Bird House in Delaware several weeks ago, in addition to five or six squarebird convertible trunk lids, he had a shelf full of complete hinges, you'd have to ask about pins only.

        hinges

My hinges sat for years and I don't know the history of how the top was operated, but one of them siezed up and sheered the pin. The other one was sticky, but I was able to salvage it.

            Rich,

Did you locate replacement pins? Or have them fabricated, if so, what was the diameter and lenght?

              trunk deck hinge pins

              Hi all,
I haven't fabriacted any new ones yet. I dropped my hinges off at work to get the guys in the shop to press them out for me, but then they had a turnaround and the hinges were in a guy's locker for a month while he was on nights. Soon.....he says.

I really hope to find something to work, I can't be the only guy to ever need these hinges????????

Did you try John at the Thunderbird Ranch? He's got a whole yard full of birds, likely has some pins.

What I had to do with one of mine that was broke was drill it out than went to the hardware store and got the same pin size long bolt and cut off the treads ,worked for me!
