    Expansion tank overflow

Took the bird out for its first drive after 5 years and noticed after driving it less than 1 mile that I had antifreeze leaking out of the overflow tank expansion tank overflow tube under the car. Could it be a stuck thermostat? Any ideas? I couldn't tell you what the temp was at because i don't believe the gauge works at this time.

Are you sure it wasn't overfilled. It should be only be filled to the bottom of the tank, not to the top.

Just took a look and found the antifreeze to the top of the expansion tank. The tank still felt pretty got even after sitting for 3 hours. It probably doesn't help that the antifreeze looked brown. I guess I should probably Change the antifreeze

Brown antifreeze is not a good sign. I hope you don't have a head gasket leak. Check your oil dipstick and make sure you don't have any water bubbles or it doesn't look milky.

Flush it all out, remove the radiator & have it professionally flushed out (chemicals), then go back with new coolant & 50% distilled water, as well as new 180 degree thermostat.

Overflow tank was filled to the top. I sucked out most of the antifreeze out of the overflow and the car has not done it since. Car has been in the garage though so i have not run it for a long period of time.

Did you change the 'brown' antifreeze?
