We are in the final stages of finishing up a 58 bird. The question we have is on the rear window. We got a new gasket from Mac's who got it from Dennis Carpenter. We have access to 3 birds to compare how the gasket should sit. As far as we can tell the bottom should lip under the filler between the trunk and rear window. If we do that we can't get the glass and rubber to go into the car. If we try and install the rubber 1st then try and work the glass into the rubber it is tight that way to. It almost looks like the rubber was made to lip on the top side of the filler panel. We have called Mac's,Dennis,Thunderbird headquarters,Larry Wilson's and nobody has given us any good advise. Has anyone else run into this? Or know someone else we can talk to? Our phone number is 605-528-6502. We are trying to finish the car up for the customer to drive it on his wedding anniverary in 2 weeks. Time is short for us!
