    Ford/Mercury 410 Engine- any good?

I've got a 1960 T-bird, but 2 pistons are stuck in the 352 block I was planning to rebuild and I just can't get them freed. I'm considering either putting in a fuel injected 5.0L with GT40 intake and heads with an AOD, but that is a lot of work. I'm also considering picking up a running BBF, and I found a Mercury 410 4V out of a 66 or 67 Marauder. I found the ratings, 330HP, 444lb-ft. 10.5:1 compression. I know it uses a 428 crank, externally balanced, with a 390 bore. But are these engines any good? Significantly better than a 390 or 460? I can get a 390 with C-6 for $350 locally, and this 410 with C-6 is 320 miles away.

I'm not concerned about keeping the car original, but if I'm going to spend $125 and 11 hours of my life to get this engine, I want it to be worthwhile.

I welcome any opinions on which engine you think is best.

    re: 410 Mercury engine

The 410's are not that common in these parts and I would think that they are a decent enough engine. I have a '65 Galaxie here that I am to paint and it now has a 410 in it. The owner said that it seemed like a much stronger engine than the 390 that was in the car. It runs out nice enough and I wish I could find one for my '67 Meteor S-55 hardtop.
